2009
2009 was memorable, good and bad. The year started off bad (ice storm) but ended good (engagement). Ultimately, I think 2009 is going to be seen as a year where I made some important life decisions. I've decided who I want to spend the rest of my life with, I've decided I want to stay at my job, I've decided I want to finish my master's degree. Thanks for reading and if you're a friend or family member reading this, thanks for your unwavering support.
- A year ago I was dating. Now I'm engaged.
- A year ago I had not read the Harry Potter books. I still haven't. I really want to finish them in 2010.
- A year ago I didn't know a PhD wasn't for me. I visited Penn State in August.
- A year ago I was blogging. I closed up the blog for a little while. Statistically speaking, I'll probably start back this year. Other Blogging Breaks: Feb2002-June2002, July2002-November2002, December2002-April2003.
- A year ago I had never seen PHISH live. On 6/19/2009 I saw Phish in Noblesville, IN (Deer Creek)
- A year ago I hadn't lived through an Ice Storm. I hope to never see one of those again.
- A year ago I didn't know how much I loved the country.
- A year ago I didn't know how lucky I was to have never had a colonoscopy.
- A year ago I had no virtualization blog. Virtual Andy is syndicated on PlanetV12N.
- A year ago I had debt. No. More. Debt.
- A year ago I had to schedule classes via phone. Through work, we delivered our ERP solution which moved everything online.
- A year ago I had internet access at home. I don't now (unless it's from Fiance's brother's Wifi or questionable sources) - I think we'll get it back before March.
